Transfer: Anew Hotel Hluhluwe & Safaris is about 2.5 hours north of Durban’s King Shaka International Airport. For those that request it via the registration form, we will arrange transfers from the airport to the venue on Sunday 1 June 2025. Similarly, we will transfer delegates to King Shaka International Airport on Saturday 7 June 2025. Alternatively, you may wish to rent a car. Public transport between the airport and the hotel is rare; please either use our shuttle, rent a car, or arrange a private shuttle. All but the last couple of kilometres are on the N2 highway. Note that there are tolls on the N2. Virtually all cars in South Africa have manual transmissions, so you should check for an automatic transmission if you require one when booking a car.
Internet/phone: WiFi is available at the conference venue. SIM cards and data are quite cheap in South Africa and are readily available at King Shaka International Airport. Since coverage in rural areas can be intermittent, we recommend going with either Vodacom or MTN. Note that many providers (for instance Verizon in the US) will unlock phones for international travel while still under contract, but this usually needs to be done in advance of departure.
